The Oxford Consortium for Human Right’s seminar on “Human Rights and New Technology” was held at Oxford from July 1 to July 7.
Three MSU Honors students, Ally Williams, Maddy Green and Evan Garrison, lived in Worcester College and heard lectures on the ways in which new technology, especially AI, is impacting human rights in various forms.
They also had the pleasure to engage with colleagues from South Korea’s Kyun Hee University, Florida State University, Connecticut State University, University of Oregon, Trinity College, Quinnipiac University, and Texas Christian University.
Ally Williams (rising Senior, Biochemistry major) had this to say about the trip: “It was truly a student-centered week filled with opportunities for collaboration and connection through various activities and discussions. It was encouraged for us to ask questions and have conversations about important human rights issues, brainstorming both problems and solutions. I learned so much more than I could have imagined.”
