The Shackouls Honors College is hosting a lecture by William Deresiewicz, the New York Times best-selling author of “Excellent Sheep: The Miseducation of America’s Elite.
Deresiewicz’s lecture is entitled “What is College For?” and will be held Friday, October 5, 2018 at 4:00 pm in Griffis Hall on the campus of Mississippi State University.
“Dr. Deresiewicz has taught at Yale and Columbia, and his book is about his experiences there,” said Shackouls Honors College Dean, Dr. Christopher Snyder. “He is a true believer in liberal education, and understands that an education is more than a certificate.”
