Donald Field Brown, Mississippi State University’s most recent Rhodes Scholar, and regional Rhodes Secretary Ralph Smith will be speaking about the Rhodes Scholarship on Feb. 20, 2018, in the Forum Room of Griffis Hall.
The event will begin at 3:00 pm and continue until 4:30 pm. Desserts will be provided.
Smith reviews all applications that are submitted through this region every year and has agreed to communicate best practices for application to the scholarship with MSU students.
Brown, who received the scholarship in 2014, now attends graduate school at Harvard where he serves as a mentor for Rhodes applicants from that institution.
This event is hosted by the Shackouls Honors College and the Office of Prestigious External Scholarships. The event is made possible by Shackouls Honors College Dean Dr. Christopher Snyder and University Provost, Dr. Judy Bonner.
